“The Wishper That Changed My Life”
When I heard Tony Robbins’ words, yesterday, they brought me back to the moment many years ago when I first arrived in the UK. I was working three jobs in the NHS as a healthcare assistant, and I hesitated: should I really commit to 6 years of studying psychology to change the route of my life?
Embracing the Wishper Within
As I stood there, the rain softly falling around me, I felt a sense of clarity wash over me. Each drop seemed to whisper encouragement, reminding me of the countless journeys I had embarked upon in my lifetime. I thought about my childhood dreams, the aspirations that had been buried under layers of self-doubt, and the societal expectations that often cloud our true potential. I reminisced about the time when I first considered pursuing a career in psychology. It was not merely a career choice for me; it was a calling, a deep-seated wishper from my soul urging me to help others find their way as I too sought my own path.
This inner voice grew louder, echoing in the recesses of my mind. I began to reflect on the various experiences that shaped my understanding of the human psyche. I remembered volunteering at local charities, witnessing firsthand the struggles of those seeking mental health support. Their stories were a testament to resilience, reminding me that we all have the power to rise above our circumstances, no matter how dire they may seem.
In those moments of doubt, I learned the importance of surrounding myself with supportive individuals who believed in my potential. Their encouragement acted as a catalyst, propelling me forward even when my own belief wavered. This is a crucial lesson for anyone on a similar journey: seek out those who uplift and inspire you. Every positive interaction can serve as a wishper, nudging you closer to your dreams.
Completing my degree was not merely about academic achievement; it was about transformation. The journey taught me about perseverance and the importance of self-care. There were days when the weight of my responsibilities felt overwhelming, yet I found solace in the rituals I created—morning meditations, journaling my thoughts, and nurturing my physical health through exercise. These practices became my anchors, reminding me of the significance of balance in life.
After graduating, the landscape of my life shifted once again. I entered the professional world, and with that came new challenges. Transitioning from student to practitioner was daunting. However, I embraced each challenge as an opportunity to grow. The experience taught me invaluable lessons about compassion, patience, and the profound impact we can have on one another’s lives.
Reflecting on my journey, I can see how everything connects. Each twist and turn has led me to this moment, where I can inspire and support others in their own journeys. I often share with my clients the importance of acknowledging their own stories. Every setback is a setup for a comeback, and sometimes the wishper that guides us is simply the lesson learned from our past experiences.
True growth often requires us to step outside our comfort zones. I encourage everyone to embrace discomfort as a sign of progress. When we confront our fears, we often discover strengths we never knew we possessed. It’s in these moments of vulnerability that we find our greatest capacity for growth.
So I urge you: listen to that inner voice, the wishper that ignites your passion. Take action, no matter how small. Each step taken in faith leads you closer to your true self. Remember, you are not alone in this journey; we are all interconnected, sharing in the collective experience of life.
As I reflect on the years that lie ahead, I am filled with hope and excitement. I envision a future where I continue to learn, grow, and share my knowledge with others. Each day presents new opportunities to live authentically and to inspire those around me. The wishper that once changed my life now serves as a guiding light, illuminating the path for both myself and others.
Let us all strive to be the architects of our own lives. By embracing our narratives and taking control of our choices, we can create the life we truly desire. Remember, the power lies within you. Harness it, nurture it, and let your wishper be the beacon that guides you through the darkest of times.
That moment was a turning point, ignited by the wishper of my inner voice urging me to pursue my dreams.
At first, my mind resisted—six years felt like forever. But then, a quiet whisper came to me: “Six years from now, you will arrive anyway—the question is, where? Unless you die, time will pass regardless.”
That thought shook me. I realised I could either let those years slip by unchanged, or I could choose to create a new destiny. So I enrolled. It wasn’t easy—it actually took me 7 years to finish my final assessments, during the pandemic—but I did it. I proved to myself that I was in control of my own path.
And yet, completing my double honours degree wasn’t the end—it was just the beginning, the base of another mountain. I paused to rest, to acknowledge my achievement, and to feel gratitude before moving forward.
Life is what we make of it. Too often we dread decisions because they feel uncomfortable, yet inside we are craving the very change that could lift us higher or release us from a situation that no longer serves us.
When we dare to look within, we discover the source of our true power. That inner power is what scares many people—it means stepping beyond the comfort zone.
So my reminder to you today: be the change you seek, be brave, be love, be fully you.
✨ Five years from now, you will surely arrive. The question is—where? Those years will pass anyway. Will you look back with regret, or will you smile with pride, knowing you chose your path?
